Clemens Construction is leading a comprehensive renovation of the Sheraton University City Hotel, a 20-story, 380,000 square-foot, 332-room full-service property originally built in 1974 and owned by the University of Pennsylvania Facilities and Real Estate Services. Performed within a fully occupied and operational environment, the project required careful sequencing and close coordination with hotel staff to maintain daily operations and minimize disruption to guests. The scope included a full interior gut renovation of all guestrooms and corridors, delivering completely modernized accommodations with new finishes, fixtures, and furnishings, alongside significant mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure upgrades to improve performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.

The renovation also transformed key public and amenity spaces, including a fully reimagined lobby, fitness level, and 20th floor club lounge, as well as upgrades to the exterior entrance awning and minor renovations to the ground floor Sangkee restaurant. The existing 7th floor pool deck was infilled and converted into a new outdoor amenity terrace. Additional work included critical repairs to the building parking garage and facade, reinforcing long-term structural integrity and enhancing curb appeal. As the project wraps up, the revitalized hotel delivers a cohesive, modern guest experience in the heart of University City.
