70,000 SF

Clemens Construction is currently renovating 70,000 SF within the 250,000 SF American Red Cross Blood Donation Center and Biomed Facility at 7th & Spring Garden St.

This logistically challenging project enhances the capabilities at one of the largest Red Cross Buildings in the nation which is home to both the American Red Cross’ only National Molecular Laboratory and an Immunohematology Reference Laboratory.  Meticulous planning by the Clemens Team has ensured that mission critical operations were unaffected by the extensive renovations taking place within this 24/7 facility.

Renovations include a multiphase approach to relocate the donation center and build new training/conference rooms, office/administration spaces, bathrooms, breakrooms, and common areas.

Significant infrastructure upgrades include new AHU’s, BAS controls, air distribution, humidification,  electrical distribution, lighting, lighting controls and audio-visual systems.

The final phase is currently underway.  In addition to administration, restrooms and exterior signage, this phase brings a new 16,000 SF MSAT (Manufacturing Sciences & Technology) Lab online. The renovated lab space will feature cleanroom/GMP manufacturing facilities, biological facilities (BSL-1/2), contract manufacturing services, and facilities for blood testing and related research.
